What the journalism industry can learn from porn
January 27th, 2008
(..) Statistics vary on how much of the internet is made of porn, but there’s no denying adult themed websites had a greater presence on the internet long before news ever did.
Porn has already begun to conquer the mobile web, allowing users to view their favorite photos and videos on the go. And yet only a conservative number of media sites are optimized for cellular devices (kudos to Fox News, the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Sun-Times, CBS News and others for their mobile optimized sites).
Open Social - Google vs Facebook
October 31st, 2007
Open Social is very practical. Many standards die an early death because they are too complicated and hard to implement. Open Social is what you want in a standard — it’s expansive enough to do useful things, but limited enough to be very easy to implement, both for containers and for apps. (..) Is based entirely on Javascript. If you know HTML and Javascript today, you will be able to immediately use Open Social to turn your web applications and web sites into Open Social apps. This is very, very good for the web. Open Social is the kind of standard that web developers love, and can easily use.
